Ryva uses Stripe for secure subscription billing and payment processing. Organization owners can manage subscriptions, upgrade or downgrade plans, and handle payment methods.

Understanding Billing

Billing in Ryva is organization-based:
  • Each organization has its own subscription plan
  • Only organization owners can manage billing
  • Billing is handled through Stripe Checkout and the Stripe Billing Portal
  • Plans can be upgraded or downgraded at any time
Only organization owners have access to billing features. Admins and members cannot view or modify billing information.

Subscription Plans

Ryva offers flexible subscription plans:

Free Plan

  • Cost: $0/month
  • Features:
    • Up to 5 projects
    • Basic analytics
    • 10GB storage
    • Community support
  • Best for: Individual users and small projects

Personal Plan

  • Cost: $20/month
  • Features:
    • Up to 5 projects
    • Basic analytics
    • Email support
    • API access
    • 10GB storage
  • Best for: Individual professionals

Team Plan

  • Cost: $75/month
  • Features:
    • Unlimited projects
    • Advanced analytics
    • Priority support
    • Advanced API access
    • 100GB storage
    • Team collaboration
    • Custom integrations
    • Custom subdomain
  • Best for: Growing teams and businesses

Enterprise Plan

  • Cost: Custom pricing (contact sales)
  • Features:
    • All Team plan features
    • Unlimited storage
    • Dedicated support
    • Custom SLA
    • Advanced security features
    • Single sign-on (SSO)
    • Custom contracts
  • Best for: Large organizations with specific requirements
Personal and Team plans are billed monthly and can be purchased directly through Stripe. Enterprise plans require contacting the sales team for custom pricing and contracts.

Upgrading Your Plan

Open Upgrade Dialog

From your dashboard, click “Upgrade” or navigate to Settings → Billing.

Select Plan

Choose the plan that fits your needs (Personal or Team).
Enterprise plans must be arranged through the sales team and cannot be purchased directly through the upgrade dialog.

Checkout

You’ll be redirected to Stripe Checkout to complete payment:
  • Enter payment method (credit card)
  • Review subscription details
  • Confirm purchase

Confirmation

After successful payment, your organization is immediately upgraded and new features become available.
Upgrades take effect immediately. You’ll have instant access to all features included in your new plan.

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrading to a lower-tier plan is also supported:

Access Billing Portal

Navigate to Settings → Billing and click “Manage Subscription.”

Select Lower Plan

Choose a plan with lower cost through the upgrade dialog or Stripe portal.

Review Changes

The system will show:
  • Features you’ll lose
  • New storage limits
  • Effective date (typically end of current billing period)

Confirm

Confirm the downgrade. Changes typically take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current billing period. You’ll retain access to paid features until then.

Payment Methods

Adding a Payment Method

Payment methods are managed through Stripe:
  1. During initial subscription, enter your card details in Stripe Checkout
  2. To add additional payment methods, use the Stripe Billing Portal
  3. Set a default payment method for automatic billing

Supported Payment Methods

Stripe supports:
  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.)
  • Debit cards
  • Other payment methods based on your region
All payment information is securely stored and processed by Stripe. Ryva never sees or stores your full card details.

Updating Payment Methods

Open Billing Portal

Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription.

Manage Payment Methods

In the Stripe Billing Portal, click “Payment methods.”

Add or Update

  • Add new payment methods
  • Remove old methods
  • Set default payment method

Billing Portal

The Stripe Billing Portal allows you to:
  • View subscription details
  • Update payment methods
  • View billing history and invoices
  • Download receipts
  • Update billing information (address, tax ID)
  • Cancel subscription

Access Portal

Navigate to Settings → Billing and click “Manage Subscription.”

Stripe Session

You’ll be securely redirected to the Stripe Billing Portal.

Manage Settings

Make any changes needed. Updates are saved automatically.

Return to Ryva

Click “Return to [Organization]” to come back to your workspace.

Subscription Lifecycle

Active Subscription

Your subscription is active and billing normally:
  • Automatic monthly charges
  • Full access to plan features
  • Billing at the start of each period

Trial Period

Some plans may offer trial periods:
  • Free access during trial
  • No charges until trial ends
  • Cancel anytime during trial
If you cancel during a trial period, you won’t be charged. Your organization will revert to the Free plan.

Canceled Subscription

If you cancel your subscription:
  • Retain access until end of current billing period
  • No automatic renewal
  • Organization reverts to Free plan afterward
  • Data is preserved (subject to Free plan limits)

Failed Payment

If a payment fails:
  • Automatic retry attempts
  • Email notifications sent
  • Grace period before downgrade
  • Update payment method to restore service
If payment issues aren’t resolved within the grace period, your organization may be downgraded to the Free plan. Update your payment method promptly to avoid service interruption.

Invoices and Receipts

Accessing Invoices

All invoices are available through the Stripe Billing Portal:
  1. Navigate to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription
  2. View “Billing history” in the portal
  3. Download or email invoices as needed

Invoice Details

Each invoice includes:
  • Billing period
  • Plan name and cost
  • Payment method used
  • Amount charged
  • Tax information (if applicable)
  • PDF download option

Canceling Your Subscription

Open Billing Portal

Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription.

Cancel Subscription

In the Stripe Billing Portal, find and click “Cancel subscription.”

Choose Timing

Select when to cancel:
  • Immediately - Lose access right away, prorated refund
  • At period end - Keep access until billing period ends (recommended)

Confirm Cancellation

Confirm the cancellation. You’ll receive a confirmation email.
Canceling at period end is recommended so you can use the service you’ve already paid for through the end of your billing cycle.

Proration and Refunds

Upgrades

When you upgrade:
  • Immediate access to new features
  • Prorated charge for remainder of billing period
  • New plan price starts next billing cycle

Downgrades

When you downgrade:
  • Changes effective at end of current period
  • No prorated refunds
  • Retain current plan features until period ends

Refund Policy

Refunds are handled case-by-case:
  • Contact support for refund requests
  • Immediate cancellations may be eligible for prorated refunds
  • Subject to Stripe’s refund policies

Best Practices

Test Ryva with the Free plan before committing to a paid subscription. Upgrade when you need more projects or advanced features.
Ensure your payment method is valid and has sufficient funds to avoid service interruptions.
Check your billing history periodically to track expenses and ensure charges are correct.
If downgrading, ensure your data fits within the lower plan’s limits before the change takes effect.
Contact support about annual billing options, which may offer cost savings compared to monthly billing.
Keep your billing address and tax information current for accurate invoices and tax compliance.

Security

Ryva’s billing is secured by Stripe:
  • PCI DSS Compliant - Stripe is certified PCI Service Provider Level 1
  • Encrypted Transactions - All payment data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • No Stored Cards - Ryva never stores full card numbers
  • Fraud Detection - Stripe’s advanced fraud prevention
  • 3D Secure - Additional authentication for supported cards

Troubleshooting

Can’t access billing?

  • Verify you’re the organization owner (only owners can manage billing)
  • Check that you’re viewing the correct organization
  • Contact support if you should be the owner but can’t access billing

Payment failed?

  • Verify card details are correct
  • Ensure card has sufficient funds
  • Check with your bank for declined transactions
  • Try a different payment method
  • Contact Stripe support for payment-specific issues

Not seeing new features after upgrade?

  • Refresh your browser
  • Log out and log back in
  • Check subscription status in billing portal
  • Contact support if issues persist

Unexpected charges?

  • Review your billing history in the Stripe portal
  • Check for plan changes or upgrades
  • Verify the organization and subscription details
  • Contact support with invoice details for assistance

Need to change organization owner?

Contact support to transfer organization ownership. The new owner will then have access to billing management.
